Quality Time with Uncle Pete

Driving a motorcycle with Uncle Pete (Quinn always pretends that this rock is a motorcycle.)
Quinn and Uncle Petey spent the afternoon hanging out together. :)

I'm a proud, baby wear'n mama!

I love to carry Jack - Attack around this way... but man, I am starting to feel his heavier weight these days!

Jack is seven months old!

 Uh oh!

Today (8/11/12), marks Jack's seven month birthday!  What a cool personality my littlest son has!  Jack is cuddly, smiley, sweet, calm, loud, fast, impatient, curious, strong and wonderful!

I couldn't have asked for a more perfect fit for our family.

Try to remember...

...THAT, 'The ebb and flow of a mother's life is not unlike the ocean. Sometimes it is a gentle tide lingering upon a sandy beach; picturesque, mesmerizing and serene. Yet at other times vibrant, stormy - full and fierce, swirling and tugging her every which way...frothy and bubbling with strong under currents. Some days are naturally more heady or fraught with friction while others more peaceful and serene. Embrace the ebb and flow of your amazing life, the storm will dissipate and the currents will move on.... do not surrender to the swirls that would seek to pull you under but rather linger in the vastness of the ocean - in its beauty and grace. Embrace with open arms the ebb and flow of your full and amazing life.'

Superman and grandma

Quinn loved wearing his superman outfit today. While we were home, he was 'saving' animals from fires, helping little toy people find their way home and even helping his mommy get a diaper for Jack. He takes his 'superman' duty VERY seriously, and I couldn't think he was any cuter if I tried.

As you can see from the pictures above, Quinn just loved the little table and chairs he found when he walked into grandma's kitchen today.  And his very own little lunch on the table was just the cherry on top!  The table and chairs were my Aunts' when she was a little girl. They are around 55 years old.

Madden's 2012

First experience with face paint. Quinn choose a yellow tennis racket for one cheek,
and a blue snake for the other!
Guess what balloon 'animal' Quinn requested?

A MOTORCYCLE!
 Lauren and Quinn were BFFs.
Some of the gang... we went up with a big group!
Stan and Steve playing catch, while Jack watches on.
Playing tackle football with dad, on the front lawn.
First experience with Pop Rock Candy. Can you say Sticky?

We just got back from another fun filled trip to Madden's Resort (in Brainerd, MN).  If I had to sum this trip up in four words or phrases, it would have to be:

1.) Family Friendly:

Because all of Steve's family were there. Grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles and cousins.  It's a great place for kids and families (everyone, actually). There is so much you can do for fun. There's a beach we visited twice, a pool, boats (we took a ride on the pantoon), golf, golf cart, bike rides and horseback riding (to name just a few).

2.) Fun:

Because it truly is so nice to break out of the same routine and enjoy a new change of pace for a few days, spent with lots of fun people.

3.) Hectic:

Well, we have two kids now, who are two and under! We veered off their usual schedules in naptime, bedtime, mealtime and any other 'time!' This made for a fun, yet hectic time!

4.) Our (new) reality:

Steve and I now fully realize that we no longer take vacations. We now call them: Family Trips!

We had a great time, thanks again to Grandma and Grandpa Kunzer!

Visit to see Great Grandma Sophie

The other weekend, we headed over to visit Steve's grandma, Sophie.  This was the first time Sophie met Jack (her second great grandson).  They were both very interested in each other!  Sophie is going to be turning 95 years old in September!  Now Jack has met all of his' great grandparents (all SEVEN of them!).  Wow...how cool is that?!
