Mama and her boys

How funny (or incredibly frustrating, depending how you look at it), is Quinn in this photo? Just when we tell him to quick come over to take a picture, he will either run the opposite direction, or will do something like this and think he is hilarious!

Oh well, someday we just might look back at these and laugh. Side note: Jack is actually laughing in the pic above, I think Quinn's kicks were tickling him?!

 Oh goodness, nice smile Quinn!
Well, it might be becoming increasingly difficult to get nice photos, but I sure do love
these sweeties of mine! I guess silly photos truly are the best kind anyway.

First time ice skating

To say this little guy was excited would be an understatement! ...he was just thrilled to come
out and show off his skates and awesome bike helmet!
 ...A bit wobbly at first.
But determined to get the hang of it!
Miss Sara the teacher, was blowing bubbles for the kids to pop, and to let them get comfortable on the ice. Steve told me Quinn was perplexed with why she was blowing bubbles, when he could have been skating. He told his daddy: skate, skate, skate!

That looks like one proud dad!

A friend from church invited us to go to the ice arena once a week for about a month, to get our little guys used to being on skates and ice. We have been talking about this for about a week now, getting Quinn pumped up and ready! ...he had such a good time, and I only took about a thousand photos...

I think Quinn's favorite time on the ice was when Steve took him off the walker, and just skated Quinn around (so they went fast!) Luckily, Steve has been keeping up on his skating skills, as he's been playing hockey twice a week. It was so fun seeing these two out there having a great time.

Jack is three months old! 4/11/12

Here's our sweet Jack at three months old, on 4/11/12.
And Quinn at the same age, about two years earlier :) !

G&G are finallly home!

G&G brought some fun gifts home for the boys from Arizona.
 Opening gifts is always fun!
The four Johannes men! I have a feeling there might be many golf games in these guy's futures! (Many years from now, of course!)
 Grandpa J and Quinn

 Grandpa J and Jack
 Grandma J and Quinn.
We had a great time over at Jan and Stan's on Saturday. We finally got to see them again after three months, while they were in Arizona. Quinn didn't miss a beat, and was so happy to jump right back into his Grandma and pa's arms! It was so sweet listening to him tell his Grandma that he loved her, over and over again...It was like no time had gone by at all! Jack loved the snuggles too!

Welcome home, guys!

Helping daddy, or just waiting for the frosting at the end?

Helping dad bake by being the ultimate entertainer, and
clinging the beaters together to make 'music'.

Quinn is eying that chocolate frosting!

 Cheers?!

He Is Risen!

I was making my infamous 'avocado dip' this evening for tomorrow's Easter party, and a powerful train of thought came to my mind as I was mixing the ingredients! (I kid you not!) ...It's no coincidence that God purposely put this specific thought into my mind: It's Easter tomorrow, the most important of the Christian holidays, and I have to share my happiness in Christ's death and Resurrection in the best format for me, my blog!   As I got to thinking about what I should write, I was able to sum it up beautifully in my mind! Getting it down on paper, well..that's another story! God knows my strength and weaknesses, and as He knew I was struggling to find the 'right' words, He graciously put this song in my mind:

In Christ Alone (My favorite hymn).

I encourage you to find the actual song online, as it is so beautiful and powerful! I'm certainly not a big fan of hymns, just because! But this one, which is also a song that can be found on 98.5 KTIS, gives me goosebumps and makes me stop what I'm doing whenever I hear it on the radio.  It puts my life in perspective and reminds me why I'm the mother I am to my sons and wife to my husband. It brings purpose into all of my relationships here on earth. It reminds me why I have Hope.

In Christ Alone

In Christ alone, my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My comforter, my all-in-all

Here in the love of Christ I stand
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand

I pray that this song gives you God's beautiful peace and reminds
us all of the reason we celebrate Easter!

Uncle Pete and Aunt Katie

Quinn was so excited when Uncle Pete came over! Right away he offered him some fruit snacks and asked if he wanted any water to drink! ...what a host :)!  He was also so proud to show off his Buzz shirt and he ran into his room to find him Woody doll (from Toy Story) to show Pete.
 It was very sweet!
Oh, was Quinn hanging on to EVERY word his Uncle Pete uttered!
We were all so excited that Katie came over, too! We had a nice meal together. It was a great evening

Security Blankets

Quinn thinks it's awesome that Jack has a bear/blanket just like he has!

This is Jack's blanket, Quinn and I decided to name him "Vroom Baby".
And here is Quinn's well loved security blanket he's had for over two years now...his name is "Monkey Baby." Every night Quinn needs to sleep with him, and oftentimes will ask if Monkey Baby can go with us, whenever we leave the house.

He's been to the zoo and both Grandma and Grandpa's houses many times over.
