Please don't forget!

Dear Myself (20 years from now),

Please, do not forget these early years in your boy's lives. Do not be overwhelmed by the insignificant 'stuff' that tries to take over in your life. Let the clean laundry sit in the basket for a couple days, it doesn't need to get folded the moment it is taken from the dryer.  Do not fuss over decorating your home. There will be many years to have a beautiful home in the future! Let children's library books cover your livingroom couch for the afternoon. See the humor in finding kid's toys in Tucker's toy bin. Relish tiny handprints on the refrigerater and kiss marks on the mirrors. Do not get down on yourself when there are more weeds than plants in your garden (remind yourself that you are raising children, not grass!). Practice and try to live the motto: my home is clean enough to be healthy, but messy enough to make memories!   ...Listen to Quinn at 2 1/2 when he tells you he is Jake the pirate and asks you to get his sword whenever his favorite show comes on! (And please, remember that his sword is really a saw from his construction kit!). Remember how sweet it felt whenever you were in a separate room from Jack, and when you were least expecting it, he would peer his head around the corner and squeal for joy when he 'found' you! Remember that these sweet sons of yours aren't always going to want you near them every second of the day. Treasure the years that they do want you near them (every. second. of. the day.)

Quinn's Barbershop

What an imagination this little guy has!!!!!! ...he took the 'apron' off the back of my massage chair, and decided it looked very similiar to the one he wore when he got his haircut a few weeks ago.(so hair won't go on their tummy) ...That's direct from Quinn's mouth!

He found a barber chair, a couple of stuffed animals that needed a haircut and he went to town!

Puff--Taastic

' I'm so proud of my first tooth! '
(Bottom front right).
It started to come in around 8-26-12.
...he's a 'fast' teether! I took this photo last Thursday,
and today (Sunday) he already has his second tooth (Bottom front left).
Watching a baby get the hang of grabbing itty bitty puffs is
probably the most entertaining thing ever.
 ...I see the Puffs, mooooom!
May I pu-leeease have some more?

Fourth Wedding Anniversary (September 6, 2012)

Four years ago we got all 'dolled up' for our big day...
Four years ago, you saw me for the first time in my wedding dress...
Four years ago I was blown away with how handsome you were!
Four years ago, we both decided the boutonniers
(and wedding bouquets for that matter) looked like a dinner salad.
Four years ago, our pastor had us turn and face all our family and friends who were seated behind us (to realize what a WONDERFUL support system we had/still have.)
Four years ago I almost left you at the alter, as I raced toward my mom and dad to give them  their rose! (I was always a mama's/daddy's girl!)

(...Steve was trying to take my hand here, and I didn't even realize it. )

... although, I've learned to not leave Steve standing alone anymore! (Sorry 'bout that honey!)

Four years ago we became 'man and wife', in the eyes of God.
 ...And it became 'legal'!

Tomorrow, September 6, 2012, marks four years of marriage for Steve and I! So, in honor of our anniversary, I thought it would be fun to pull out all of the old wedding photographs and reminisce on what an awesome day September 6, 2008 was!!

Steve, over these last four years, my love for you has only grown stronger. As we live our lives together, focusing on our faith in Christ, building a solid, committed marriage and raising our sons in a loving and secure home, I know I have found my soul mate in you! ...I am SO SO glad to be partners with you in this great adventure of life!
